Water From Your Eyes - It’s A Beautiful Place

The New York duo’s brilliantly quirky 2023 album, Everyone’s Crushed, was one of those much-treasured word-of-mouth joys that kept making its way onto the stereo and into our headphones. So we came to their follow-up with a kid-on-Christmas Eve-like anticipation that put this album on a bit of an unfair backfoot for its first few playthroughs. It didn’t land quite as we’d hoped.

But then slowly, surely, the magic of this peculiar record unfurled.(To be fair, we must have known it was there all along - or wewouldn’t have kept going back for more). The genius of this band lies in their ability to throw you all overthe place, often within the space of the same song, never letting you rest comfortably in the structure, butalways holding true to the melody. Ballsy, catchy and chaotic - it’s enough to bring tears to your eyes!
