Uugly Ozo - Stargirl

Deep in the sleepy hills of the Isle of Wight, something ugly is stirring. The anxious brainchild of artist, Jessica Baker, ugly ozo is the sonic diary of a chronic oversharer, laying bare the most confronting corners of the female experience.

The five-track collection finds the rising alternative artist at her most daring and imaginative yet, weaving together themes of identity, self-discovery, and vulnerability against a backdrop of loud, unapologetic guitars, 90s grunge, and indie rock.

Written and recorded at REX Studio with longtime collaborator and producer Macks Faulkron (HighSchool, Picture Parlour, She’s In Parties), stargirl captures ugly ozo’s instinctive ability to pair emotional honesty with uncompromising sound. From the turbulent bite of “sink or swim” to the haunting beauty of “madonna” and the confidence of “onto a winner,” the EP paints a restless yet empowering portrait of a young artist carving out her space in today’s alternative landscape.
