Torrent, Gilles - World Jazz Sound

Swiss saxophonist Gilles Torrent may have been initially smitten by the sounds of US jazz giants like Coltrane, Shepp and Sanders, but as he’s developed and matured he’s cast his creative net much wider. After teaching himself the sax at 21 he spent the next 11 years studying the concepts and innovations of Coltrane before moving on to take the next logical stepexploring and soaking up the many styles music from around the world, and incorporating them into his Coltranesque vision of jazz.
