A spectacular musical evolution that blends his iconic, nostalgic charm with powerful, evolved sounds.
Les Retrouvailles, released in 2005, is Yann Tiersen's fifth studio album. The album blends piano, accordion, strings, and a wide range of other instruments to create a melancholic, poetic, and contemplative atmosphere. Composed largely on the island of Ouessant, it evokes seascapes and memories with remarkable sensitivity.
The album features a number of distinguished guest artists, including Jane Birkin, Elizabeth Fraser (former singer of Cocteau Twins), Dominique A, Miossec, and Stuart Staples. It includes the standout singles "Kala", "Plus d'hiver", and "Le jour de l'ouverture".
