Born in struggle, and written in response to a world engulfed in wild-fire smoke, fascism, colonialism, and hetero-patriarchy, the album draws surprising influence from formative alternative musics (The Cure, Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode) in combination with a vital Anishinaabe worldview to create a fugitive space of re-worlding and affirmation.
