This release features 12 tracks spanning genres from Jamaican funk to rocksteady and early reggae.

True to the title, the selection leans heavily toward a funky sound and includes seven previously unreleased tracks or alternate versions. A standout track is the original long take of Prince Buster's 1967 recording "A Tribute to the Toughest"—likely the prototype for the classic rocksteady anthem "Ghost Dance"—an unreleased song dedicated to the rude boys who surrounded him. Also included are an alternate version of Buster covering James Carr's soul masterpiece "Dark End of the Street," Ernest Ranglin's "Come Get Me," and an unreleased take of Winston Samuels' beautiful rocksteady number "I'm Still Here" (featuring backing vocals by Larry Marshall); these tracks offer a solid, dubplate-like sound.

Buster chose a ghetto cemetery as his final resting place—the same ground where the Rude Boys who had gone before him lay.

He was a legendary figure who remained true to the spirit of the Rude Boy until the very end.
