Phoenix City All-stars - Clash Version Rockers

Originally released in 2018, Phoenix City All-stars' fourth studio album saw them turn their attentions to The Clash. The resulting album is an “incendary dub” take of “the only band that mattered”.

Deliberatly lo-fi, the album features nine 1970’s styled dub rockers cuts, with early Clash classics dissected and dubbed to an inch of their lives. Recorded by Sean Flowerdew (Pama Int’l), Ryan Windross & Bullit Hardway with Jewels Vass on vocals and mixed by acclaimed dub producer Al Breadwinner on 8 track tape in a strictly annalogue fashion.

Between them, the quintet have worked with many greats including; Lee Perry, The Specials, Madness, Mick Jones, Toots & The Maytals, Mad Professor, Paul Weller, Steel Pulse, Ken Boothe, Nat Birchall, Rico Rodriguez, Dawn Penn, Vin Gordon, Derrick Morgan, Laurel Aitken, Dave & Ansel Collins, Vibrators and The Selecter, to name but few!
