Rolling and writhing like a righteous beast determined not to be tamed, this local quartet summon something deep and primal with their unique and otherworldly compositions that emerge as if from the very rich, fertile earth spread out beneath their feet.
The New Eves first came to our attention during their spellbinding performance at the Green Door Store’s Psychedelic Sundae, way back in September 2022. They were so good, in fact, that they claimed the inaugural feature of our ‘Resident Radar’ of bands to watch out for.
All of the Eves sing, producing a wonderful, celestial sound, aided by the inclusion of flute, cello and violin, veering from jarring and melodic to unsettling yet serene. Their musical references, which are as enticing as they are incendiary, are transformed through some kind of musickal magick and alchemy, expanding into something galvanising, unparalleled, and spiritually forthright.
They honed their craft on the road, tightening up their ever intriguing sounds, before unleashing their debut alongside a raw and energetic live performance that lit up our shop floor, shaking all in attendance. The dynamic quartet are as in ascendancy as the titular New Eve and, to experience the full force of their powers, we heartily recommend catching themplying their sorcery in the flesh.
Few Brighton flames burn brighter. Bask in their glow.
