‘The Standard Model’ immediately makes its presence felt with a procession of pointed guitar riffing, laying the way for a breathless, eruptive song about a hated figure, never held to account. Despite its theme, there’s a euphoric magic to the way the band goes about their business on ‘The Standard Model’, and their propensity toward livewire songs that spiral out of control remains intact, pinned into place as ever by bassist Mae Ryder’s infectious choral of “La la la’s”. To describe their latest outing as “urgent” doesn’t quite seem to do the song’s energy justice.

Vocalist and guitarist, Robert Riba, comments on the single: "‘The Standard Model’ has been with us since the birth of our band. It gives unrelenting guitar madness with abrasive vocals — a commentary on a widely hated character who, at the peak of the track, turns to dust. Perhaps running away, disappearing without a trace, never held accountable. Although it hits hard, it's our least serious, most purely fun and ecstatic song. We built it by stitching two catchy riffs together, and our live performance really grew around it. Both tracks were captured live in Dan Carey's studio in Streatham, the energy bouncing off the walls of this small room with all of us crammed inside." Producer Dan Carey adds his thoughts on the new single: "This song, along with its video, defines exactly what it should sound, feel and look like to be in a band."

Consisting of two sets of siblings, MORN have earned a reputation for the chaotic while gigging relentlessly in 2025. Their music teeters on the edge of ethereal and the unhinged - an uncanny mix of guitar riffs, some coming from heaven and others from hell. Splitting the lead vocal role three ways, their harmonies reflect the richness of their homeland, South Wales - where they notably returned to deliver one of “Green Man’s largest moshpits” of 2025. You can hear both the rolling hills of Wales and jagged landscapes of London in their music, forming a distinguished sound that’s been turning heads all over the country. MORN are inviting you into their family, building a world on their own terms - unfiltered, magnetic, and impossible to ignore.

About the B side, Riba adds: “‘I Watched You as Your Mind Slipped Far' was finished one day before our Green Man Festival headline. It's the final product of our aim to create a feeling where the world is closing in on itself — ending in the most beautiful but conflicting way possible. As we move forward into the unknown, we want to leave you with this song as a summary of who we've been at the beginning, and perhaps a hint of what might come next."
