In “Light It Up,” their third release, the powerhouse roots-rock vocalist from Texas and British-American guitar alchemist deliver riveting blues-rock melodies with lyrics that are pure cinema. A treasure trove of originals, there are but two covers: Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams” reimagined as a blues shuffle with Deb’s seductive growl, and the Willie Dixon-penned “Spoonful” – a nod to Howlin’ Wold, an idol to Deb and Colin. Chris Butler, the mastermind behind the popular band, The Waitresses, co-produced and co-wrote many songs on the recording with Deb and Colin, and played both drums and bass on various cuts. Terry Abrahamson provided another key collaboration with “Lessons In The Ground.”
