The legendary French electronic producer and DJ has curated a wonderful selection of 16 soul and rhythm & blues gems
"The rare gem has never really interested me... No, what matters to me is the music... just the music...For me, it's all about the feeling, the emotion, the warmth, or that shiver running through you when you get that little jolt of "ahhhhhhh!" That's the whole point... rare or not, old or new, commercial or underground, techno, blues, rap or salsa... I couldn't care less, as long as it makes me feel good." - Laurent Garnier
It's All Connected Somehow... Soul launches a series on Heavenly Sweetness, in which each release will explore a specific theme. For this first outing, soul takes centre stage, with rarity taking a back seat to the simple pleasure of listening to a track over and over again. No matter how many musical genres it contains, a record collection is a single entity and must always be understood as a whole.
The artwork, designed by Mambo, follows the same principle. Each volume forms one piece of a puzzle, with all the pieces eventually coming together to create a complete work of art.
