Cape Town’s Internet Girl have been quietly building one of the most unpredictable careers to come out of South Africa’s underground, blurring the jagged urgency of post-punk with the swagger of internet-age hip hop.

After breaking out in 2024 with “PULL UP”—a feral, genre-agnostic single that became one of the country’s biggest global exports—the group have toured relentlessly across Europe, including a stop at Pitchfork Paris that confirmed their reputation as a livewire force.

Their EP, Those Against Us All The Time, doubles down on their refusal to play by the rules: “NEEDY”, a sharp-edged collaboration with Lancey Foux, and “OKAY!”, their latest single, tilt between chaos and catharsis.
