Originally released in 1997, ‘Laugh’ followed his acclaimed debut with a blend of wit, melancholy, & melody that marked him as one of Britain’s most distinctive voices. Much of ‘Laugh’ was co-written with former Smiths guitarist, Craig Gannon, with further collaborations from a stellar cast including Stephen Duffy, Sean O'Hagan (The High Llamas), & Damon Albarn of Blur. The album was produced by Hall himself, alongside Gannon & Cenzo Townshend, & has since gained cult status for its sharp songwriting & intimate, understated arrangements.
