Entering a new era with a refreshed lineup, Gen and the Degenerates return with Earthly Delights — their most ambitious and fully realised project yet.
Blending sharp wit with emotional honesty, the album unpacks identity, grief, sexuality and the chaos of modern life. A more cohesive yet expansive evolution of their sound, it’s a caustic, absurd soundtrack to strange times — never without joy or defiance.
Gen and the Degenerates are a North-west based trio, delivering an idiosyncratic brand of indie infused with New York art-punk cool, and a distinctly British sense of humour. They effortlessly weave the kind of danceable pop sensibility more commonly found in a Chappell Roan track into songs that draw from Talking Heads and LCD Soundsystem.
Known for their brash energy, chaotic live shows, and front-person Genevieve Glynn-Reeves’ lyrics, which are always smart and perceptive, but never take themselves too seriously.
