Roxanne de Bastion returns with her long-awaited third album, Here Lies Human. The album’s ten energetic alt-pop songs explore a world increasingly shaped by tech autocracy, power imbalance and looming dystopia.
Curious, cutting and deeply affectionate, Here Lies Human is an imagined epitaph for humanity in all its beauty, strangeness and self-defeating complexity. It marks a bold new chapter for de Bastion, expanding her sound while retaining the sharp observational songwriting that has defined her work.
The Steph Marziano/Tony Visconti produced album features an exceptional cast of collaborators: The Visconti-produced single, Apocalypse Queen, features Donny McCaslin, bandleader of David Bowie’s Blackstar, guitarist Gerry Leonard (David Bowie, Suzanne Vega, Rufus Wainwright), eight-time Grammy Award-winning engineer Kevin Killen (Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Tori Amos), and drummer Gunnar Olsen (Miley Cyrus, Bruce Springsteen, Liam Gallagher).
