D'Angelo And The Vanguard - Black Messiah

The third studio album by the American singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Originally released in December 2014, this album brought an end to his 14 year hiatus which followed his 2000 album 'Voodoo'. Black Messiah is a study in controlled chaos, and D’Angelo is the rare classicist able to filter the attributes of the greats in the canon into a sound distinctly his own. D’Angelo describes his third album as being “about an idea we can all aspire to. We should all aspire to be a Black Messiah. It’s about people rising up in Ferguson and in Egypt and in Occupy Wall Street and every place where a community has had enough and decides to make change happen.”
