ROSEBUD is the tenth album from Current Joys,
the solo project of Surf Curse drummer, Nick
Rattigan - and his boldest reinvention yet.
Written during a difficult period and reworked alongside producer never goodbye (Danny Dwyer), the record transforms a set of strippedback slowcore songs into a maximalist collage of nu metal, screamo, electronica, hip-hop, powerpop, emo and darkwave.
Big anthemic hooks shouted through layers of static, punk chord progressions chewed up by digital manipulation and moments of striking tenderness underneath the noise.
