Brighton artist and film composer, George Bloomfield, releases his debut album, 'Now & Then'.
Taking influence from a range of genres including indie, jazz, funk and psych he creates a unique sound that appeals to fans of Khruangbin, Mac Demarco and KOKOROKO. After support from BBC Radio 6 and radio 2, plus over 4 million streams this year alone, it feels right to finally have it in a psychical format we can hold!
Written during a month-long creative retreat in a small town in the French Alps, the album serves as a tribute to George’s late best friend and musical collaborator, a who he lived with there during his teens. Honest lyricism covers topics of friendship, love, grief and change - all whilst keeping a remarkably positive outlook and easy listening vibe.
"Certified chill out bliss" - CLASH MAG
“Wavy guitars, soulful horns - a winning combination we've come to love from George!” – Emily Pilbeam - BBC Introducing
"influenced by Khruangbin and his music is just as Gorgeous" - Angela Griffin, BBC Radio 2
